14-inch pizza stone

A 14-inch pizza stone is a home baking stone for oven use bringing to mind of the stone baking ovens of many previous times.

Earlier to 30 years back, this 14-inch pizza stone was first introduced for home use.

A 14-inch pizza stone is thicker and more durable than your average stone.  Anyways, you must be careful of two things –

  1 – You should be sure that the stone is completely dry.  You may be tricked into believing that the stone is dry when it really may not be.  Well if it is not, then the water in it may expand and make cracks in the stone.

  2 – You must heat the stone up slowly, starting on the cold grill.   If you throw a cold stone on a boiling surface, it could make it crack because of the difference in temperature.  You must start out with your burners at 50 percent and not at all in direct contact with the flame.

In the 14-inch pizza stone, the biggest pizza that you can make round is 14 inches, but you will have only 1/2 of an inch to get it perfectly on the stone.  If you are proficient at it, you can make a 14-inch pizza.

Although you could bake a 14-inch pizza if are careful in centring it, a 12-inch pizza can be handled very deftly and efficiently.  You are recommended not to try cooking a 16-inch round pizza on this particular stone.

14 inch pizza stoneYou are also well-advised as to not to go in for the cheapest one.  This one is a bit on the higher side as far as prices are concerned, but it continues to keep up a very high level of quality and does not compromise on that factor.
